→ Does the internet archive allow fanart/vids?
Yes yes and yes! They have a community video, community text and I think community audio - open to anyone. Podfic is also hosted there as well and AO3 has whitelisted embedding from the Internet Archive.

Hello fellow vid makers and watchers,

I've been thinking about creating a new vidding community and I am trying to gauge interest.

The previous Equinox Exchange format got me thinking about a Vidding Prompt Meme, like the various Kink Memes you see about, and as far as I am aware none really exist.

The plan would be to use AO3's Prompt Meme function to allow people to leave prompts but it would be super casual, no official claims, no deadlines, and it would also last for like a year. There would also be no minimum length requirement so you could totally just make a vidlet to motivate yourself.

You would need an AO3 account to leave prompts but anyone could come, make a vid, and post to whatever platform they choose.

I may have also start registering the community... viddingprompts

But to gauge interest, I have created a Google Form. So if you like the idea, please fill out the form to let me know!

Fall Equinox kicks off today -- but it looks a little different than usual. This season, we're doing Equinox as a prompt meme rather than a gift exchange, to loosen restrictions, lower commitment levels, and generally make things easier on ourselves under the current circumstances.

The rules / guidelines are quite different this season due to the format change, so even if you're very familiar with the usual rules, please read over the ones for Fall 2020 before signing up or claiming a prompt:

Schedule: 

August 18th: Sign ups open
August 30th: Sign ups close
September 6th: Claims open
November 8th: Deadline for vids to be uploaded; submissions close
November 15th - 20th: Submissions will temporarily reopen for late vids. Think of this as the prompt meme version of late treats; any claimed vids as of 11/8 should be submitted by that day.
November 21st: Vids go live
November 28th: Vidders are revealed

con_solation

The Con-Solation Vidshow playlist will go live on April 4th, around 8PM Eastern Time. The goal is to showcase fanvid premieres that otherwise would have premiered at one of the con vidshows that have been cancelled because of the pandemic. If you have such a premiere, please submit it here.

When go-live happens, I will post the link to the playlist here. I will also post a separate document with any vid warnings the vidders provide.

After the vidshow, there will be discussion in the Vidding Discord's Con-Solation channel. If you need an invite into Vidding Discord, let me know.

With several cons with vidshows cancelling/postponing because of Covid-19, I'm probably not the only vidder left with a vid premiere and no place to premiere it. We've been talking on Discord about trying to set April 4th or 5th to virtually premiere some of those vids, including my Jews Dancing Sequel vid. Please talk to me if you'd be interested in participating either as a vidder or as a vidwatcher/commenter.

I'm going to vidukon_cardiff this year and I'm thinking about putting together a vid show. This is my idea:

I want to go to there!

Vids that made people want to check out a new/unknown canon.

Basically, tell me which vid or vids made you go "Oh man, I need to watch that movie/show/whatever RIGHT NOW!!!" Bonus points if you ended up loving the source dearly. I can think of several vids myself, but would love some input.
