We're having a dance party and we'd love to show your vids! Sign-ups are now open for vidders who wish to make premiering vids for the Sparkle Motion dance party at this year's FanWorks convention.
Talking about vidding - mostly vidders talking, some critics and academics etc too. All vidtalk about Vidding (promos, rants, dearmes, documentaries, meta) welcome. Collaborators can add to this playlist (check tumblr for details).
Bidding is now open in the annual VidUKon auction! Head on over to bid for a vid made just for you!Bidding is open from now until Friday 31st January 2020, 8:01pm GMT.
Festivids 2019-20 is now live! Go watch all of the vids here! There are 96 vids in the collection, the most since 2016-17 (98 vids), our last year before we moved to AO3 - amazing job everyone!
So it's time to play Guess the Festividder. Comment here with all your best (and worst) guesses for who made what.
I've been batting this idea around for several months now and would like to see if there's enough interest to make it happen.
There used to be a stigma in some vidding circles about using the same song as someone else. Which is unfortunate, because sometimes a song is an AMAZING vidding song and fits so well for so many fandoms. I enjoy seeing completely different fandoms vidded to the same song. Even the same fandom with a different take or different characters is enticing!
What if we chose a song as a group, then each signed up for a fandom to make a vid using that same song. At the end of the year, we'd have a virtual vid show that sounded like a repeat - but would really be a visual feast.
